News Release
Conor Lamb, Congressional candidate for Pennsylvania’s 18th District, has just earned the endorsement of a national seniors’ advocacy organization. The National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare has sent a letter officially supporting Lamb, a U.S. Marine and former federal prosecutor who has vowed to protect Americans’ retirement and health security.
“Our nation needs his leadership, vision and determination to fight for working families and older Americans. Conor understands and supports the critical roles that Social Security and Medicare play in the lives of our nation’s older citizens and their families,” says National Committee president and CEO Max Richtman.
On the campaign trail, Lamb has already warned that Republicans will try to cut Social Security and Medicare to pay for last December’s Trump/GOP tax cuts. He opposes the privatization of Medicare and supports a number of proposals to strengthen Social Security, including providing caregiver credits to workers who take time off to provide care to family members. Lamb will face his Republican opponent in a special election on March 13th.
“Conor Lamb is well-prepared to serve the needs of seniors and will make the preservation and enhancement of Social Security and Medicare a priority in Congress,” says Richtman.
