Today, on behalf of the millions of seniors we represent, the National Committee to Preserve Social Security & Medicare PAC is proud to endorse Adelita Grijalva in the special election to represent Arizona’s Seventh Congressional District. At a time when Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid are facing unprecedented attacks from the Trump Administration and Republicans in Congress, District 7 seniors need a fighter in Washington. As she has done her entire career in public service, Adelita will take on anyone who undermines older Americans and working families.

“I’m honored to have the endorsement of the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare. These vital programs are lifelines for seniors, people with disabilities, and families working hard to make ends meet,” says Grijalva. “In Congress, I will fight to protect and strengthen Social Security and Medicare for every generation, because every family deserves the peace of mind that comes with knowing their loved ones can access care and live with dignity.”

Last week, by a margin of one vote, House Republicans passed their ‘Unfair, Ugly Bill’ that would gut Medicaid and could trigger half a trillion dollars in cuts to Medicare — all to pay for tax breaks for their wealthy donors. Adelita understands how crucial these programs are for the health and well-being of Arizonans, and her vote as a new member of Congress is essential to defeating these assaults on our retirement and health security.

With such a small Republican majority in the House of Representatives, Arizonans have the opportunity to shake up Washington by sending Adelita to Congress. The National Committee looks forward to seeing her elected to the U.S. House as the first step in electing a pro-senior majority in 2026. – Max Richtman, President & CEO, National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare
