WHEREAS:   Social Security and Medicare represent a commitment between the government and its citizens;

Therefore, Be It Resolved:  One of my top priorities as a citizen and voter is the protection of Social Security and Medicare for current and future retirees.  Among your top priorities as my elected representatives should be to defeat benefit cuts and privatization proposals that threaten my retirement security.

Be It Further Resolved:  I urge you to work closely with the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare to protect the benefits we have worked for, paid for and earned.
