Actually, there are at least 100+ members who support the privatization of Social Security, including Senator Grassley himself. As Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee during President Bush's privatization campaign in 2005, Grassley led GOP efforts to create Social Security private accounts. A ThinkProgress investigation turned up 118 other Republicans currently in the House and Senate who are on record supporting Social Security privatization, including fellow Iowans Reps. Steve King (R-IA) and Tom Latham (R-IA). |
