Alan Baker, MA, chief of staff of APHA. "We join the Gerontological Health Section of APHA today in honoring her leadership and distinguished career."
“It's no surprise that healthcare is at the top of the 2008 election agenda. The healthcare challenges facing America 's young and old alike must be addressed in order for our nation to meet its full potential. As our population ages, issues such as skyrocketing healthcare costs, Medicare, prescription drugs and long-term care take on even greater importance. APHA and the National Committee understand it will take a mix of sound policy, politics, and public health to tackle these issues. I am honored to receive this recognition from APHA today and pledge that we at the National Committee remain committed to working for a healthcare system which cares for all Americans.” Barbara B.
