    Sorting Fiscal Fact from Fiction: What Americans Need to Know about Debt, Deficits, and Social Security

    The Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform holds its inaugural session next week.  In advance of that meeting, the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare will host a media teleconference previewing some of the critical issues to be addressed by members of the Fiscal Commission.  Participants in Monday's conference call will discuss:

    • Deficits, Debt and Social Security
    • the Social Security Trust Fund and its long term financing
    • the Economic Recession and the impact of Benefit Cuts, especially for baby boomers, women and minorities
