THE NATIONAL COMMITTEE TO PRESERVE SOCIAL SECURITY & MEDICARE November 28, 2011 NEWS RELEASEBrenda Sulick Named Senior Policy Advisor for National Seniors' Advocacy Group
Max Richtman , President and CEO of the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare today announced Brenda Sulick, former Vice-President of Congressional Affairs and Advocacy at the National PACE Association, will be the new Senior Policy Advisor for the National Committee's Government Relations and Policy Department. Sulick assumes her new role at the National Committee on November 28th. "Medicare and even Social Security benefits are being targeted by members of Congress who want to reduce the deficit by cutting these middle-class programs. The fight to preserve these programs has never been more important, which is why the National Committee is thrilled to welcome our new Senior Policy Advisor, Brenda Sulick. Brenda is a veteran seniors' advocate and policy expert deeply skilled in both the legislative and executive branches of government. She's well-respected throughout Washington and brings a wealth of experience to our ongoing battle to protect programs which are vital to American families." Max Richtman , NCPSSM President/CEO In addition to serving as the Vice-President of Congressional Affairs and Advocacy at the National PACE Association, which represents 80 Programs of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly, Sulick was the national recipient of the John Heinz Senate Fellowship in Aging in 2006-2007, and worked for former U.S. Senator Blanche Lincoln, a member of the Finance Committee and Special Committee on Aging. Previous positions include Director of Federal Health Policy at the Alzheimer's Association in Washington , DC and Senior Program Specialist and Consultant for AARP in Washington, DC . She has taught in a number of undergraduate and graduate courses on health care and economic security issues. Sulick holds a Ph.D. in Public Administration and Policy/Gerontology from Portland State University . She also has an M.A. degree in Public Policy and Gerontology from the George Washington University and a B.A. degree in Political Science and Public Administration from York College .
