    ~ 4 Million Seniors ~ One Voice ~No Privatization ~

The National Committee Urges Four Critical Changes Medicare Drug Plan

      It's time for a Part D Overhaul

“America's seniors need prescription drug coverage under Medicare. What they got was a Part D drug plan designed by and for the insurance and drug industries. Congress must go back to the drawing board to create a drug benefit that puts seniors first.” …Barbara B. Kennelly, President/CEO

The National Committee's 4.6 million members and supporters are mobilized behind a four point plan to overhaul Part D. Through a nationwide grassroots campaign and lobbying on Capitol Hill, the National Committee will present a strategy that gives seniors a drug plan that works.

“We hear daily from many of our members and supporters who are frustrated, confused and angry about the privatized Part D drug plan.  Seniors want prescription drug coverage they can trust. This is what the National Committee fought for in 2003 during the Medicare prescription drug debate. This is not what seniors have been given with the current privatized Part D drug plan.”…Barbara B. Kennelly

As bad as this new prescription drug plan is, there are some seniors who can benefit. Unfortunately, many have been scared away by the program's serious flaws. That's why Congress must act now.
