    ~ 4 Million Seniors ~ One Voice ~No Privatization ~

President of National Senior's Advocacy Organization has high expectations for White House Conference on Aging meeting December 11-14, 2005

“As a member of the WHCoA Policy Committee, I am excited the delegates are coming next week. From day one of the conference, through implementation debates and drafting of the final report, these are the voices of experience which should be heard as we shape our future aging policy” - - Barbara B. Kennelly, President/CEO

After 15 months of listening sessions and forums gathering input from seniors nationwide, the White House Conference on Aging is set to begin in Washington . This year's conference will address a number of important topics affecting America 's senior population such as: healthcare, increasing retirement savings, preserving Social Security, incentives to keep older workers in the workforce and long term care.

“White House Conference delegates will be challenged to create a road map for America's aging policy at a critical point in our history as the first wave the of the baby boom generation retires.  The policy choices we make over the next decade will have a dramatic impact on our nation…not just for seniors but for all Americans. My hope is these delegates will launch a vigorous and open debate of all these issues,” said Mrs. Kennelly .

More than one thousand delegates from all 50 states, including 90 NCPSSM members, supporters and grassroots volunteers will participate as delegates at this year's White House Conference on Aging. Mrs. Kennelly says the delegates are critical to the WHCoA's success.

“The delegates chosen for this Conference come with a wealth of experience and real-world understanding of the challenges facing America 's seniors. I've worked hard with other members of the Policy Committee to try and create an open process without policy preconceptions because I believe these delegates have much to offer.”

Mrs. Kennelly will be available for interviews during the WHCoA. Please contact Scott Frey at 202-236-0887 or Pamela Causey at 202-236-2123 to schedule a meeting.
