Mike Prucker Named Chief Operations Officer for National Seniors Advocacy Group

January 8, 2013

News Release

Max Richtman, President and CEO of the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare, has announced that Mike Prucker, former Palmetto Group lobbyist and long-time Capitol Hill leadership staffer, is the new Chief Operations Officer for the National Committee.

“The legislative threat to Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security has never been so serious. Mike Prucker’s valued expertise will help lead the National Committee’s experienced staff of policy experts, grassroots leaders, and communicators as we continue to battle against the billion dollar Wall Street and anti-entitlement campaign waged against our nation’s vital safety net programs. The American people understand we don’t have to target the nation’s most vulnerable to reduce our deficit. The National Committee will continue to ensure that message is delivered loud and clear to Washington.”… Max Richtman, NCPSSM President/CEO

Mike Prucker worked for a decade with the government affairs firm, the Palmetto group. He came to Palmetto after 23 years of experience in the House of Representatives having worked with the House leadership and on Ways and Means Committee issues. He served as Legislative Director for Rep. Richard Neal (D-MA), the Executive Assistant to the Vice Chair of the Democratic Caucus, the Floor Assistant to the Chief Deputy Whip, and before that in the offices of Reps. Barbara Kennelly and William Cotter from Connecticut.

Mike received his B.A. in Government from the University of San Francisco in 1972, and his M.A. and Ph.D. in Political Science from State University of New York at Binghamton. He began his duties at the National Committee’s COO January 7th.
