“It should be no surprise that polls nationwide show Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid are issues that will drive voters in this election. Americans of all ages are tired of the political spin used by candidates who call benefit cuts “reform” and privatization “preservation”. The National Committee’s Truth Tour is designed to cut through the campaign sloganeering to provide the truth about candidates’ plans for these vital programs. Our campaign hits high gear this month engaging and mobilizing thousands of voters in key battleground states between now and election day. This election could determine the future of these programs so it’s critical Americans go to the polls armed with the facts.”… Max Richtman, NCPSSM President/CEO
The National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare will end its final month of the “Truth Tour” campaign in the battleground states of Ohio, Virginia, Florida, Nevada, Wisconsin, and states in between. Already, we have collected pledges from voters nationwide promising to support only candidates who will preserve Social Security and Medicare for all generations. We’ve hosted voter education sessions, tele-town halls, and led one of the largest grassroots educational campaigns in our long history.
The final phase is now underway:
- Our Mobile Billboard Campaign continues its nationwide trip, rolling through Virginia and Florida in October
- Radio ads begin in Virginia, Ohio, Florida, Nevada and Wisconsin
- Volunteer phone banks reach out to voters in Ohio and Virginia
- Forums, rallies and educational sessions continue in communities nationwide
