“There were a lot of great things about the 1950’s -- including the music -- but that doesn’t mean we should take our nation back to the days when half of America’s seniors lived without health insurance and a third lived in poverty. Far too many politicians in this election season are trying to convince Americans that we have to destroy Medicare to save it. That’s simply not true. I’m glad to have this opportunity to join the National Committee’s Truth Tour in helping voters nationwide get the facts about what candidates from both political parties have proposed for these vital programs. Social Security and Medicare are lifelines for generations of seniors and their families and they deserve honest answers from candidates.” Jon Bauman, performer and activist
The National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare has launched one of the largest grassroots educational campaigns in its long history of defending programs vital to millions of Americans. The national campaign will include voter education sessions led by local and nationally recognized experts, a six-figure paid media campaign including radio and mobile billboard advertising, door-to-door canvassing, tele-town halls, social media outreach, and an expanded grassroots field operation.
